MORENA & WIREMU
Mar 8, 2018 / Waiongana Gardens / Waitara / Taranaki
Oh my gosh, I am not a crier at weddings generally, but oh, this one from the weekend, the absolute sweetheart of a bride doing her vows to her new step sons as well, and watching the 8 and 10 year boys' precious faces so overcome with emotion in response - what a beautiful testament to new life and new love. These guys got married outside under redwoods at the beautiful Waiongana Gardens just out past Waitara - and someone was definitely looking out for them because amidst a terrible forecast for the entire day, it managed to hold off until literally the minute the ceremony finished, and then held off while we did photos! They had their reception out at East End Surf Club on the beach (which looked stunning thanks to Victoria at VS Events - a good wedding planner is worth their weight in gold!). I loved how they brought who they were as individuals and families into the day, the presentation of the Korowai from the bride's family, all the amazing flax flowers woven by the bride's mum throughout the bouquets and tables, her brother officiating some of the service in te reo, oh and did I mention the bride got a Harley Davidson from the groom as a wedding gift! There were so many beautiful aspects to this wedding - congrats guys!

HAILEY & TOM

A couple of sneak peeks from this weekend's wedding - oh my gosh, how many things would I have loved to have stolen from this quirky, gorgeous backyard New Plymouth wedding! The shoes, the flower arrangements, the ornaments in their house, the bride's leather jacket, the list goes on and on and on - so many gorgeous, handmade, unique touches - I loved how they made their whole wedding day reflect who they were, set in their tree-filled backyard in their very cool little villa out in Lepperton, Taranaki. They did first look photos (highly recommend for a chilled pace by the way!) in the city, had pizza with their bridal party at Ms White's at the West End Precinct, before heading back for a dusk ceremony at their villa - it was a super chilled day with the loveliest of couples, topped off with braziers, fairy lights and a band.
